……or to be more accurate public relations,
copywriting, crisis management, proof reading, press office cover, project
management, media training and lecturing.
“A first-class press and PR man who never ceases to give 100 per cent in whatever he does.” – Andy Williamson, Regional Director, the Cancer Research Campaign, London & the south east area. Flooding, rock concerts, pioneering cancer drugs, pollution incidents, council crime crackdowns, suicide, bankruptcy, album launches, court cases, rugby internationals, foot and mouth disease, hotel refurbishments, terrorism………just a few of the issues and events Spencer has handled for a wide range of clients varying from the pop group Squeeze to Nina Simone, British Gas to the Environment Agency, the Rugby Football League to Leeds United Football Club, the Samaritans to the Cancer Research Campaign (now Cancer Research UK) ,and so on. Available to work either in-house or from his own office, Spencer has also been seen around the corridors of various agencies you might have heard of including Beattie Communications, McCann Erickson and The Publicity Bureau. “Good at his job and always stands his round at the bar.” – Glenn Tilbrook, lead singer, Squeeze. As for lecturing? Well that’s something that began in 2003 when a local education authority who shall remain nameless (sorry, blame a confidentiality clause) asked Spencer to talk to a group of head teachers about how to improve the image of their respective schools through the media. Since then, the lectures have taken on more of a media training/workshop format dealing with subjects such as how to write to write the perfect press release and, without beating around the bush, why it’s best to tell the truth when the sh** hits the fan. As the top Hollywood publicist Michael Sitrick once said, “Tell it all and tell it straight…because if you don’t, someone else will.” |
